The origin of the name Urive is Basque, with ancient and noble houses in the jurisdiction of Guernica, Rogoitia, Sondica, Arrazola, Berriz and Orduña (Vizcaya) and Leniz Valley, in Guipuzcoa. The arms of this lineage is certified by the King of Arms of Philip V, Francisco Zazo, which he gave to Don Martin Uribe in 1746. As evidence of the antiquity of the name Uribe, there is the fact that in 1353 signed the truce with Bilbao Avendano, Don Ochoa Uribe. This lawsuit was motivated because Don Sancho de Uribe was killed by Velasco then proceeded to burn his house. This lineage repeatedly proved his nobility to join the military orders.
